Complaints under Reg. (EC) 261/2004: long delay, cancellation and denied boarding
What are my rights if I have been seated in a different class from the one booked?
In certain exceptional circumstances, air carriers may reassign passengers to a different class than originally booked during the boarding process. In such instances:
- Passengers upgraded to a higher class are not subject to any additional payment.
- Passengers downgraded to a lower class are entitled to a partial refund of the ticket price, the percentage of which varies depending on the flight's duration.
If a single ticket encompasses multiple connecting flights, the reimbursement only applies to the affected segment of the journey and not the entire itinerary.
